better

I am doing much better today. I feel more calm and a little more back toward center - not at center mind you but getting closer. I am just loving this book I'm reading. I highly recommend it for anyone who has ever used food to deal with emotions. They address alcoholism slighly too as they are very similar ways people deal with emotions they don't understand, don' know how to deal with or just don't want to deal with. This book is so kind! She's very honest of her own accounts and there are many many stories written by other women suffering with the same or very similar food issues. I guess it's just so interesting to me because there is such honesty flowing from the pages and a long with that honesty she works in encouragement and gentle suggestions on why we use food and how we can start living life without depending on it for anything other than nourishment for our bodies. She commends us for doing the best we could with what we knew by using food to protect ourselves when we didn't know any other ways. Now that we are aware that we don't need to rely on food we can move forward and find better ways of dealing with painful things. I am not doing this book justice - I haven't written a book review in years.
